Byrd Park
Situated on the banks of the Pocomoke River and located just
off West Market Street, Byrd Park is the largest of the three
town parks in Snow Hill.
Its new concession stand and wide
expanses of green grass make it ideal for festivals and specials
events. The large pavilions provide shade from the hot sun
and shelter from inclement weather. Children will find hours
of fun on the eco-friendly playground next to the pavilions.
Boaters will find ramps for canoes, kayaks, and motor boats.
There is dockage available along with water, electricity,
comfort stations, lighted parking lots, and spacious picnic
areas. Fishing is permitted on the docks in the park without
a fishing license. Call Town Hall for reservations of the
facilities at 410-632-2080.
Sturgis Park
Just up the river from Byrd Park lies Sturgis Park. This charming
spot is a perfect venue for evening dances in the summer time,
church picnics, and special community events. Snow Hill has
a deep water port, with pump out stations, restrooms, and overnight
availability for docking. Electric and water are available
along with comfort stations and lighted parking lots.
The town’s
Riverboat, the Miss Rai can often be seen at the Sturgis Park
dock. No fishing license is necessary at the docks in Sturgis
Park. Canoes and kayaks can be rented from the nearby Pocomoke
River Canoe Company. Call Town Hall for further information:
410-632-2080.
