Having recently moved from Boulder, Colorado to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Raye opened her Snow Hill studio in September of 2003. The mission of Gillette Portrait Arts is to bring a different approach to traditional portraiture ~ to capture spontaneity in everyday events and to bring an artistic eye to special, once in a lifetime occasions.

A graduate from Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Raye defines her style as Fine Art Portraiture. Whether photographing a wedding, a child’s birthday party or a portrait in a more formal studio setting, the goal remains the same: to capture imagery full of interest, emotion and of a timeless quality.

Deborah Rolig OriginalDeborah Rolig graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland in 1977 with a Fine Arts degree in Painting and Drawing. The daughter of a well-known regional artist, Deborah began her formal art training at an early age. After studying at Maryland Institute, Deborah has blended her traditional training with her love of abstract art to create her own unique style.

Her career began in the late 70's painting murals and working as an Artist in Residence in Prince Georges County Maryland, where she met her husband William. She has been painting and exhibiting her work since then and is represented by several galleries on the eastern shore.

The narrative quality of her paintings combined with the juxtaposition of bits of realism on an abstract field captures a broad audience. “There’s something there for everyone.” The rich textures and many layers of color gives the viewer a sense of the evolution of each painting.

William Rolig OriginalWilliam Rolig studied art at York Academy Arts, York, PA and Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, MD, majoring in painting. He also studied with Ann Didusch Schuler and Albert Handel concentrating on pastel portrait painting. In the late 1970’s he served as Artist in Residence in Prince George’s County, MD, teaching painting workshops and created several large public murals for the “Art for Public Places” program. He has exhibited in galleries and shows throughout the Mid-Atlantic. His work is in many private collections here and abroad.

Throughout William’s 30 year career his creative paintings have focused on mostly architectural themes in the tradition of Edward Hopper. “I try to bring attention to the beauty of natural sunlight and the play of reflected light in shadow on common, everyday scenes. It all seems to happen in the shadows.” His images are specific places that have touched or inspired him in some way either through the light at that moment or just an intuitive feeling that grabs his attention.

TheRegalBeastStudioMy art reflects who I am & where I've been . Sometimes I think I'd rather do my art than anything else.

Creating art is an experience that summons my inner self.

When I touch my clay I enter 'Isabella's World'. She's another side of me that few people get to know.

I invite you to do the same, your inner artist calls to you. All you need to do is listen.
